Treatments for Damaged Teeth
Treatments for Cavities, Devitalization, Restorative Treatments, and Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics)
At Equide, we have all the necessary equipment to repair damaged teeth that do not need extraction. Like humans, horses can develop cavities in various tooth structures. Often, a tooth can be saved with a filling, which avoids extraction or slows down cavity progression.
We treat:
- Peripheral cavities, meaning cavities in the outer layer of the horse's tooth (cementum)
- Root canal cavities, meaning cavities in one or more vital parts of the tooth (dentin)
- Infundibular cavities, meaning cavities that affect the cementum of the central structure of the upper teeth (maxillary)
- Small fractures, meaning those that do not require extraction and can be smoothed or filled
- etc.
Benefits
At Equide, we always prioritize saving the tooth when possible. We have all the necessary equipment for precise, meticulous, and pain-free treatments for your horse.
